Dealer Comments
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is a midsize SUV designed for those seeking a blend of style, comfort, and everyday practicality. Finished in Diamond Black Crystal Pearlcoat with a Black interior, it combines a commanding appearance with a well-appointed cabin.
This SUV is particularly well-suited for buyers who need versatility for commuting, weekend adventures, and family errands. Features like split folding rear seats and a spacious interior mean it adapts easily to carrying sports gear, luggage, or groceries. In regions like Lakeland, FL, its rear-wheel drive and advanced traction systems ensure stable handling in varied weather. The inclusion of amenities such as remote keyless entry, automatic temperature control, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration streamlines daily routines, making it a practical yet refined choice for families and professionals alike.
Driving the Grand Cherokee Altitude is defined by its smooth 3.6L V6 engine, which is paired with an automatic transmission for responsive acceleration and relaxed highway speeds. The Eco Suspension I and four-wheel independent suspension offer a comfortable ride over uneven pavement, while speed-sensing steering and electronic stability control deliver composed handling. The SUV’s quiet cabin, supported by an active noise control system, makes commutes or road trips more enjoyable. The powertrain delivers steady performance suitable for daily travel, errands, and longer journeys without compromise.
Safety is a priority in this SUV, with systems designed to protect occupants and assist the driver in real-world situations. The Protech II package includes features like the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera, helping with visibility and confidence during parking maneuvers. Anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control, electronic stability control, and multiple airbags—including dual front, side, and knee airbags—work together to minimize risk in the event of sudden stops or collisions. The anti-whiplash front head restraints and active noise control system contribute to overall occupant comfort and safety.
Key features in the Grand Cherokee Altitude include the Premium Lighting Group for enhanced visibility, a Premium Alpine Speaker System for upgraded audio quality, and the Quick Order Package 2BZ Altitude, which adds stylistic and comfort enhancements. The SUV is equipped with front dual-zone automatic climate control, heated door mirrors, and a leather shift knob for added convenience and luxury. Technology is highlighted by integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and a trip computer, ensuring connectivity and easy control of vehicle systems. The Trailer Tow Group IV expands its versatility for recreational and utility needs.
When compared to other midsize SUVs like the Ford Edge and Toyota 4Runner, the Grand Cherokee Altitude stands out for its blend of upscale features and proven V6 performance. The Edge offers turbocharged four-cylinder options and a car-like ride, while the 4Runner emphasizes rugged off-road capability.
